2021 Sale recap

Come To The Source would like to thank everyone who came to the 23rd annual sale on August 28, 2021. It was so nice to be back after a year away.

We had perfect weather at the preview. The riding horses had a good foundation and then some! These are the kind of horses that are ready to do anything on. After the preview, lunch was served and the sale began at 1:00.

The first horse was a dun roan weanling that sold for $6,500. The number 2 horse was a blue roan weanling and brought $13,000. They were nice future stud prospects, and started the sale off right.

The two high-selling horses -Lot 12 and Lot 32 - both brought $18,500. They were both blue roan geldings with all kinds of ranching experience and way more! The top 10 horses averaged $14,775. The total sale average was $7,800. The weanlings sold for an average of $5,177.

"We feel like we’re doing something right," says Randy Dunn, "or we wouldn't have so many customers who keep coming back. Thanks to everyone who came this year!"

2019 Sale recap

Saturday, August 24, 2019 marked the 22nd anniversary of Come To The Source Production Sale. Laramie is a great vacation spot this time of year, thanks to the cool nights and not-so-hot days. There were customers from Montana, Utah, Oklahoma, California, Iowa, Kentucky, West Virginia and a lot of folks from Texas.

The morning brought sunshine and perfect weather as people gathered to watch 16 riding horses being shown at the preview. All the horses had a good foundation, and some were really broke and ready to do anything on. After the preview and a delicious lunch, the crowd made their way to the sale ring. The first 3 horses to sell were blue roan weanlings. They were nice future stud prospects, and started the sale off right.

The high-selling horse was Lot 13, a bay roan gelding by Like A Son of Blue, owned by Randy Dunn and ridden by Denton Ward and Kacey Clark. He sold for $11,000 and went to Colorado. The top 10 horses averaged $7,890. The total sale average was $3,755. The weanlings sold for an average of $2,415.

“The one thing I’m really happy about is there are so many return customers,” Chip Merritt said of the sale. “And then they bring their neighbors. Makes us feel like we’re doing something right.”

Come To The Source would like to thank everyone for their continued support. Individual prices are shown in the chart below.
